Trip to Wales

Our trip to started on the 20th September. We drove through Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. We slept one night on the coach. When we woke up we were in France and we were going to Calais. There we crossed the English Channel to Dover by ferry. When we came to a small town of Rhyl, we met our "family" for the first time. Every day went to school. The school was 20 minutes from our "meeting point". At school we had three groups and each of the groups had one teacher. At school we had 3 lessons every day.

Every day after school we visited a lot of interesting places. We visited for example: town with the longest name of the world, many castles, and a sea aquarium in Rhyl. We had three all day trips. One of them was to Chester. There was a shopping day because we had there many free times for shops. The second all day trip was to Liverpool. There we visited The Beatles Story and Liverpool stadium. The third trip was to the national park Snowdonia, where we visited the largest mountain in Wales Mount Snowdon. Before we came back to Prague we had stopped in London. We were there for one night. We visited many famous places.

It was a nice trip. I have really enjoyed it and I hope the others enjoyed it as much as I did.

This year our eighth and one of the seventh grades went to Great Britain. Specifically to North Wales. We went there through Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. We overcame canal La Mache on a ferry and got out in Dover. On our way to Wales we stopped in the city of Oxford and visited their university.

We stayed in a smaller town called Rhyl in host families. We stayed there for 10 days. We also went to school. The school was in another town called Colwyn Bay. The company was called CLT and they rent a few rooms in a big villa. We were at school for four days. Every day our after school activity was visiting castles and important cities and places. One of the castles, that felt the most interesting for us particularly, was Caernarfon. The Princes of Wales were crown there. But the most interesting visits took place on weekend. First we went to Chester where we had a shopping day. We must say that it wasn’t that interesting for us but at least we bought some presents. The other day was more interesting. We went to Liverpool. We visited The Beatles museum and then we headed to the football stadium. We don’t really watch football, so we didn’t quite understand the passion that some people felt.

After the weekend we got one more day in Wales. We went to a national park called Snowdonia. We left the other day early in the morning and headed to London. We arrived there in the evening and stayed in hotel Ibis for one night. In the morning we had our breakfast and headed to the centre of London. We visited some sights and had lunch. It was evening before we even realized it. We got on bus and headed back to the Czech Republic, the same way we came.
